library books

Welcome to the land of reading!

I am so excited to be back as your librarian for another school year. I have missed all of my students so much!

Enjoy the snow this week! Below are some resources I'd love to share with you to check out this week:

The Secret Garden of George Washington Carver is a fantastic new book that I just recently bought for the library. It goes a little deeper into the life Carver had as a child and his interests. To watch a read-aloud of this amazing book click here.

It’s also Black History Month! To read even more about some amazing African Americans that helped shape our country, click here. You can read some biographies about Carver, King, Parks, Coleman and more.

Do you love Dav Pilkey books? Click here to find some some fun activities such as mazes and word searches and learn how to draw your favorite Pilkey characters (such as Dog Man and Captain Underpants). I’d love to see your drawings!

We just got in a lot of great new library books.  I brought a couple of them home to share with you. Click here to listen to me read-aloud A Dog Named Doug by Matt Myers. Click here to listen to If I Built a School by Chris Van Dusen.

You can also click here to access my Wakelet. A Wakelet is just an easy way to gather up and organize a list of internet links to share with you that you can use at school or at home.
