In 2019, as a family, we decided it was important to be closer to family and made the move back to Gilmer. With that being said, this is my first year at Gilmer Elementary and 4th grade. I am excited about the new adventure and learning alongside your children.
I began my teaching career in Longview ISD where I taught at Ware and South Ward Elementary. I spent my first 6 years in education, with Longview ISD, teaching kindergarten, 3rd and 5th grades. In 2011 my husband was transfered to Nacogdoches. Here, I taught 3rd and 5th grades at Fredonia Elementary. I then accepted a job at Central Heights, where my children attended school, and was a part of their 3rd grade team for 7 years. I enjoyed working for each of the districts and formed many relationships. I had the joy of teaching many students as well as learning new grade levels and content areas.
I got married in 2003 to my husband Nathan. We have been married for 16 wonderful years. We have two beautiful girls, Kennedie and Kylee. Kennedie is a sophmore at Gilmer High School and Kylee is a 5th grader at Gilmer Intermediate. We have three dogs, Izzi the cock-a-poo, Annie the german shepherd, and Maggie the shelter rescue. We love Gilmer and are happy to be back here.
